Artist Biography

I am based in the Northwest of England, in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, just a stone’s throw from the historic town of Chester which boasts the oldest racecourse still in operation in the World having been established in 1539.

Living on the outskirts of Delamere Forest, with my husband, dog, cat, multiple fish, 2 sheep and 4 Pekin ducks, every day brings some new challenge.

Inspired by the idyllic Cheshire countryside and its wildlife, not to mention Chester Zoo and Racecourse ,I am fortunate in having no shortage of animal subjects to paint - although I particularly enjoy equine art.

Having had a love of horses all my life, I am drawn to their energy and wish to capture a sense of movement on the canvas whilst still showing their form and

beauty.

I work mainly in oils, with some mixed media pieces where I add liquid gold, gold or copper leaf which add a vibrancy and richness to the paintings.

I have exhibited at galleries, both locally and in the North of England, and donated paintings to charity auctions locally.

After Retiring from the NHS, I was able to devote my time to my passion for art, and I undertook a 12 month Portrait Diploma course with the Realist Academy in Manchester.

Since graduating in 2020, I have expanded my portfolio to include Portraits. This has proven to be particularly rewarding and I have enjoyed undertaking commissions over the last two years.

Currently, I have an Equine series of paintings for sale, that are available to view at the Goose Green Gallery in Altrincham. All are original oil on canvas of varying size.

If interested in any of my Artworks or to discuss a Commission, please feel free to contact me directly.
